2016 Patriot's Plaque Ceremony

Thursday, March 10th at City Hall

The Patriot’s Plaque Ceremony is scheduled to take place at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 10 at the west side of Philadelphia City Hall.  Society President, Joseph P. Henan, will preside at this year’s wreath laying ceremony, which will feature Guest Speaker PA Representative Michael Driscoll.  Rev. Chris Walsh will provide the blessings.  A Proclamation from Mayor James Kenney’s office will be presented at the ceremony.  Bagpipe music will be provided by Joe Tobin and Del Campbell representing the Emerald Society Pipe Band.  The 69th PA Civil War Reenactment Group will serve as the Honor Guard for the ceremony led by Civil War Reenactor, Captain Scott Eller.
 
Please also be aware that a Ceremony in the Mayor’s Reception Room, City Hall is scheduled to start at 4:00 p.m. that afternoon.  Members of the 69th PA Civil War Reenactment Group will act as the Honor Guard when Mayor James Kenney greets leaders of the Irish American community and presents a Proclamation declaring March as “Irish Month” in Philadelphia.  Members of The Society of The Friendly Sons of St. Patrick are encouraged to attend both ceremonies.
